Thinking About National Security: Defense and Foreign Policy in a Dangerous
<p>Very few Americans have had a longer, deeper, or more consistently responsible involvement with problems of national defense than Harold Brown. Between 1960 and 1981 he was director of the Lawrence Livermore Laboratory, director of Defense Research and Engineering in the Departement of Defense, secretary of the Air Force, president of the California Institure of Technology, member of the U.S. SALT delegation, and secretary of defense. He is now distinguished visiting professor at the Johns Hopkins Univcersity School of Advanced International Studies.</p>
